A 26-year-old Mathadi worker committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence. Turbhe (Navi Mumbai) resident Arun Bhadale was a Mathadi worker and ended his life due to poverty, as he mentioned in his suicide note.

Upon investigation, police found a suicide note in which he mentioned poverty as a reason for his suicide. He had also mentioned Maratha reservation as a reason, said police officials.

Prior to this incident, a similar incident took place in Bandra’s government colony where Rajesh Bhingare killed himself and his family owing to poverty. Before hanging himself, he gave poison to his wife and two children and then killed himself.

He used to work in Mantralaya’s Rationing department. While investigating Bhingare’s case, police found a similar suicide note where he had blamed poverty, which pushed him to end his life.
