On Sunday afternoon, March 14, a fire broke out in the garage outside the Waliv police station, in Palghar district's Vasai (East) area of Maharashtra.

About 30 bikes, cars and autos which were seized by the cops in various cases were destroyed due to the fire.

According to the police, an unknown person lit the fire, which eventually spread to the vehicles.

Around 1 pm the villagers alerted the police about the fire, which had spread outside the police station. Later, the cops immediately informed the fire brigade and a team rushed to the spot and douse the flames.

However, more than 25 bikes were completely burnt in the incident. Even a tempo and two cars have been reduced to ashes.

Meanwhile, according to locals, a few days ago, similar incident had taken place outside the police station. A bike caught fire after someone lit the same near the garage. However, it wasn’t massive so villagers managed to extinguish it.
