Kandivali police have arrested an accused who not only abducted a 10 year old girl but brutally raped her. The accused who was on run was arrested from Gujarat. He will be kept in police custody since 1 April.
The said incident took place on 5 March where 36 years old Deepak Chauhan was in inebriated state abducted 10 year old mentally challenged girl who was her neighbour. He then took her to the railway track and raped her. He then threatned her and dropped her at her place. The next day, the girl complained of pain and so her parents took her to Shatabdi hospital. There they understood that she was raped. Parents immediately filed a police complaint.
Kandivali police then formed a team of six who then started combing operation in Mumbai, Thane and other states. They were finding it difficult to trace the accused. However, finally, the police arrested the accused from Gujarat who was then presented at Dindoshi court.
