Mumbai: 5 Fake Ticket Checkers caught by Railway staff this year so far

All the above persons impersonating to be the TCs were handed over to GRP for further action. FIR was also lodged against them under different sections of IPC. Passengers are advised to be alert and report any suspected fake TC to railway police.

Ticket checking staff of Mumbai Division, Central Railway, with the help of RPF and GRP caught five fake Ticket Checkers from suburban stations/trains during the last eight months i.e. between January to August 2021.

Recently, on August 13, 2021, Sukhvir Jatav, Head TC, Dadar saw a person checking tickets from passengers on platform number 5. He got suspicious and asked him to show his ID card. The person tried to run away but eventually was caught and handed over to GRP for further action.  

In another incident on May 4, 2021, a person was accepting money and giving receipts to passengers in D1 Coach of 02538 Down, Kushinagar express special. Anant Kumar, Sr. TTE enquired and found that he is a fake TC and was having duplicate EFR. He was also handed over to GRP.

Earlier, on April 28, 2021, Harimangal Yadav TTE/CSMT detected a fake TC in 01071 Kamayani Express special in D1 coach at Kalyan station. Besides, on March 15, 2021, Sikandarjit Singh Head TC, Kurla and Chitra Waghchaure, Head TC, CSMT  detected a fake TC at Sion station. The same day, Raju Gujar, Sr. TC, Sandhurst Road also detected a fake TC. 

All the above persons impersonating to be the TCs were handed over to GRP for further action. FIR was also lodged against them under different sections of IPC.

Passengers are advised to be alert and report any suspected fake TC immediately to the Railway Police / Authorities.
