The coronavirus cases in Maharashtra have been increased on a daily basis and the police personnel have been working tirelessly amid the coronavirus pandemic. This has led to an increase in the coronavirus cases among police personnel in the state.
In the last 24 hours, five Maharashtra police personnel died due to the coronavirus. According to the data issued by the public health department, a total of 21,311 police personnel have been tested positive for COVID-19 till now and 222 have died.
The deaths of police personnel due to the coronavirus have increased in rural areas of Maharashtra. The rising number of fatalities in rural parts has become a matter of major concern. Beed, Kolhapur, Chandrapur and Buldhana districts have reported more deaths of police personnel due to the coronavirus in August.
As per the recent update, 156 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported among police personnel in Maharashtra, taking the total number of cases to 21,311. Of these, nearly 17,434 COVID-19 patients have recovered until now. Currently, there are 3,655 active COVID-19 patients with coronary heart disease undergoing treatment.
Police have been patrolling 24 hours a day since the inception of the coronavirus pandemic. However, on many occasions, the rule of social distancing has been flouted. Whether it's Kangana's arrival in Mumbai or the media crowd gathering during Rhea Chakraborty’s interrogation in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput death case, the police have taken steps to stop the mob while endangering their own life.
As of September 21, the coronavirus cases in Maharashtra have risen to 12,24,380 and the death toll has touched 33,015. The active cases in the state remain 2,74,623 while almost 9,16,348 people have recovered from COVID-19. On Monday, Maharashtra reported 15,738 coronavirus cases and 344 fatalities in 24 hours.
