The health minister of Maharashtra, Rajesh Tope on Thursday (July 9, 2020) informed that there are 6,875 new cases of coronavirus in the state, taking the total number of cases to 2,30,599. It was also added that in the last 24 hours 4,067 patients have recovered from the disease. With this, the total number of people cured has gone up to 1,27,259. The total number of active cases in the state stands at 93,652 and 9667 deaths have been recorded.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) shared data on social media, according to which 68 deaths were reported in the last 48 hours in Mumbai. 27 out of which had co-morbidities, 37 were male & 31 female. Three deaths were below the age of 40 years, Forty-three deaths were above the age of 60 years and twenty-two were between the age of 40 to 60 years.

The recovery rate of Mumbai district is at 67 per cent and the doubling rate is 47 days. The number of active containment zones including chawls and slums is 746 and active sealed buildings in the city are at 6,634. The total number of cases in Mumbai are 89,124.

Lockdown in the state has been extended till July 31, 2020. Along with strict rules to be followed in containment areas.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the country are more than 7.9 lakh with 29,623 deaths and more than 4.9 lakh recovered cases.
