On Saturday night, a murder took place over INR 4 when a 40-year-old man was stabbed by an omelette vendor over a fight. The man later succumbed to his injuries at Shatabdi Hospital on Sunday afternoon.
The victim Ravi Bhagwat (40) was a rag picker who used to reside in the Dongripada area, Virar (E). When the family of the victim went to Tulinj police station, Nallasopara, only NC was registered thought the offence was cognizable. Owing to the ignorance of Tulinj police officers, the Palghar SP suspended three cops and has launched an inquiry regarding the same.
However, after the victim’s death, the cops registered a FIR against three accused under sections 302 of IPC and arrested two. They have detained two for further questioning.
