A murder case was registered at Dharavi police station and one of the accused was at large for many years. Meanwhile, the police received information that a person in Mira Road was claiming to have committed a murder in Dharavi in an inebriated state. The accused was threatening the citizens by claiming to have committed murder to create terror. Based on this information, the police disguised themselves and arrested the accused after a year.

A year ago, a murder took place in Dharavi. Three to four accused were caught by the police but their accomplice, Mohammad Usman Mohammad Asif (26), was at large. He was nowhere to be found. The Dharavi police were looking for him. Meanwhile, Assistant Inspector Vaibhav Kadam received a call from an informer, who told police about a man who was in an inebriated state confessing to a murder. The informer added that the person is trying to scare people by saying that the police cannot catch him despite all this. He has a physical deformity in his hand, the informer said.

After hearing this, it was almost clear that the person would be Usman. Under the guidance of Senior Inspector Raja Bidkar and Inspector Sangita Mane, Vaibhav Kadam and his team immediately reached Nayanagar in Mira Road. As soon as the police saw Usman he was brought to Dharavi with a mask on. 

Police arrested him in disguise

After receiving information about the accused, the police disguised themselves and laid a trap in the area for two days. Upon arrest, the accused confessed to the crime. The accused has previous drug charges filed against him and an old complaint of threatening a person as well.

What was the case?
 A 25-year-old youth was killed in a dispute over crossing the road in Dharavi police limits. The accused and his accomplices attacked the youth. The youth died. These events also created a tense atmosphere in the Dharavi area. A case was registered at the Dharavi police station under sections 103 (2), 351 (2), 3 (5) of the Indian Penal Code.
