A 32-year-old man has been arrested by the Aarey police, Mumbai, for allegedly raping a minor girl and threatening to kill her. According to the reports, the victim and the accused were neighbours in the Aarey Colony, in Goregaon area of Mumbai.
On November 8, the accused called the victim and told her that he wanted to discuss about a love affair with a friend. According to the victim’s statement, she went near the BMC school in Aarey Colony to meet him. However, it was dark and the area was secluded. Taking advantage of the situation, the accused sexually assaulted the girl. The victim, however, tried to shout for help but it couldn’t reach to anyone.
Moreover, the accused went on to click the obscene photos and make videos of the victim in his mobile with an intention of harassing her. The accused also threatened to post those photos on social media if she filed a police complaint after the incident. Apart from that, the accused was repeatedly blackmailing the girl.
After facing the torture regularly for several days, the victim lodged a complaint at Aarey Colony at the police station. As per the complaint registered, the police have registered a case against the accused under sections 376, 354 (b), 506 (b), 4,8,12 POSCO and 67 IT Act. The police official said that they are further investigating in the matter despite the accused have been booked.
