The crime branch has arrested an Afghani citizen living illegally in Wadala and his name is Habibullah Prang alias Zaheer Ali Khan. He was found with fake documents. Habibullah has been living in Mumbai for the past 17 years and has created fake documents claiming to be an Indian citizen. Officers of Crime Branch Cell 5 received information that some Afghan nationals were living illegally in Wadala area. Based on this information, a team of Inspector-in-Charge Dhanshyam Nair, Sadanand Yerekar, Sunita Bhor, Ajit Ghandari took action in the area and detained the suspect Bahubullah for questioning.

The police found his PAN card and driving licence in the name of Zaheer. He was claiming to be an Indian citizen. But the police realised that he was misleading them by giving wrong information. So he was brought to the crime branch office and thoroughly interrogated. This time he admitted that he is an Afghan citizen. He also said that he has been living in Mumbai since 2007. Police seized Afghani PAN card, Afghani identity card, vaccination certificate from his residence. The court remanded the accused to police custody till February 26.
