Mumbai - During the intervening night duty of 10/11.01.2017, AIU intercepted a passenger Mr. Mohammad Altaf Moinuddin holding Indian Passport no. N 2035495 who arrived from Riyadh by flight no. 9W 523 and was supposed to depart to Mangalore by Jet Airways flight.
Personal search and examination of his baggage resulted in the recovery of 10 gold bars totally weighing 1160 grams valued at Rs 29,68,585/-. Six gold bars were recovered from wallet kept in his pocket.
Four gold bars were recovered from LED emergency light which was neatly stuck to the battery of emergency light. LED light was kept in his checked-in-bag. All gold bars were neatly wrapped with black coloured adhesive tape. The passenger was arrested and booked under various IPC sections.
