An article in the Free Press Journal reported that in his Instagram post, Goud detailed the harrowing incident, where he stated that the video had been shot the previous day around 8 pm at Bandra Bandstand. He mentioned that he had been approached by an intoxicated police constable who proceeded to assault him with his baton. Goud further conveyed that he had made attempts to halt the assault and had inquired about the reason behind the constable's attack, but the constable's aggression had persisted. Additionally, he described how the constable had allegedly choked him and threatened to take him to the police station.
Police Response
Krishnakant Upadhyay, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 9, commented on the situation, indicating that an inquiry was currently in progress. He explained that the constable had been following lawful instructions from his superiors. In the video, according to Upadhyay, it could be observed that the constable had requested Goud to leave, but Goud had not complied, and the constable had only brandished his baton without resorting to physical force. Additionally, Upadhyay made a note that Goud had previously faced charges related to being in an unauthorized area and soliciting illegal funds.
