Mumbai- On Monday night, a woman was gang-raped in an Amboli shanty, once again raising questions regarding women’s safety in the metropolis. The Maharastra State Women's Commission (SWC) has stepped in and has asked for the inquiry report as soon as possible. Meanwhile, SWC Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar has asked the police to expedite the process of filing the charge sheet against the accused. She said that she is happy that the police arrested the accused in a matter of hours and added that the commission would also try to raise awareness amongst women regarding their safety and precautionary measures.
