Two men allegedly threaten a Bandra-based developer at gun point

A case has been filed at the Bandra Police station and an official investigation would begin to understand the whereabouts of the accused.

An incident recently come to light whereby two people openly fired on a famous developer in Bandra allegedly because he could not repay the loan. As per reports, Bandra police have arrested Farhan Azgar Syed (30) and Fayaz Rafiq Qureshi (33) in the case. The developer has alleged that both the accused called him to his office and fired shots at him. Police are investigating the matter further.

Complainant Nasir Latif Sheikh (43) is a builder and has his office at Bandra West. Both the accused are also residing in the same area. The accused Fayaz had an old friendship with Sheikh and had introduced Farhan to Sheikh to exchange currency notes. Since the complainant is a developer, he always needs money for work, and therefore, three years ago, the developer had taken INR 45 lakh from these two accused at 10 per cent interest. 

As planned, Sheikh was regularly delivering money to both the accused on a monthly basis. But in the meantime, the COVID19 pandemic spread across the country, due to which businesses stopped. Everything stalled causing huge economic losses to development, affecting the lives of many.

Under this scenario, Sheih was not able to pay the Farhan Azgar Syed and Fayaz Rafiq Qureshi, and despite repeated requests, the two accused questioned Sheikh to his office on the third floor of the Godfrey building in Bandra West. They accused and threatened him over the demand for money, and the argument did not stop there. They were accused of pulling out a pistol and firing at Sheikh to intimidate him. Fortunately, Sheikh was not injured, however, due to the incident, Sheikh has been facing a tough time mentally. He has reported the same to the police and the accused have been arrested.

Police have also found an empty mattress and the office where the alleged shooting took place has been sealed following the complaint. Experts will be informed about it the same who will inspect the mattress and submit a report regarding the firing. The weapons used by the accused in the crime have not been seized yet and police are investigating further.

It is said that Syed and Qureshi are involved in the air conditioning business, and have an AC repair shop. An official investigation would begin to understand the whereabouts of the accused.
