In a shocking incident, a drug peddler was apprehended for selling cannabis with school children in Dahisar

The man in question, Rajesh Khandekar, was caught outside a school in Dahisar waiting for class 10 students to sell them marijuana. The Mumbai police got a tip-off that a person had been dealing drugs to children from schools in Dahisar and Borivali, and hence they laid traps outside many schools in the area for three days but could not find Khandekar.

On Monday, February 20, a police squad that had been waiting outside noticed Khandekar attempting to speak with a few class 10 kids. Later, 210 grammes of marijuana were discovered in the man's pocket when the police apprehended him. He was detained for drug possession.

Several charges had been filed against Khandekar throughout the city because he had been distributing drugs to schoolchildren. He used to approach students and offer them a sample of the illegal substance for free. When the kids became dependent, he demanded a price and then raised it while requesting the pupil to bring in more clients.

As Khandekar did, the authorities are now looking into whether other gang members also sell drugs to schoolchildren. They are also looking for the place where Khandekar obtained the illegal goods. The police will undertake drug awareness campaigns on the negative effects of using drugs in every school in an effort to stop such activities. The police advise students to contact them if they see any individuals trying to deal them marijuana or other illegal substances.
