Borivali GRP arrests three men for molesting a woman travelling in a train to Indore

Reports state that one of the accused touched the woman inappropriately, while the train was halted at Mumbai's Borivali station. Moreover, two other accused also passed harsh comments. The incident was reported on October 10, 2021.

A female passenger travelling on the long-distance train, on October 10, 2021, was allegedly molested by three men. Upon knowing the same, the  Borivali Government Railway Police (GRP) began the investigation, and arrested the accused on Saturday.

It is being said that the woman was travelling on the Avantika SF Express to Indore, with her husband, when the three accused men assaulted here while being in an inebriated state. A report regarding the same was published in the Indian Express, which quoted an official who said that the accused were seated exactly opposite to the woman and her husband. One of the accused touched her inappropriately at approximately 10pm, while the train was halted at Mumbai's Borivali station. Moreover, two other accused also passed harsh comments.

The officer also informed that that the woman was helped by other co-passengers after her husband informed them and sought help. They filed a complaint at the concerned police station, post which the officials registered a case against the accused under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code. 

Investigation regarding the matter was undertaken by the Borivali GRP who thoroughly checked the list of passengers travelling on the train and nabbed them. Interrogation revealed that the accused confessed the crime and also informed the police officials about being under the influence of alcohol. They were travelling to Ahmedabad and are said to be employed by a courier company.
