Andheri – Chaos reigned briefly at platform no. 1 on Andheri railway station during office rush hours this morning, when a car zoomed in on to the platform that was already crowded with commuters.
The incident occurred around 7:15 am on Monday when people were waiting for the train and suddenly, a speeding car made its way to the platform. Commuters were shocked and confused to see the car on the platform.
The Railway Police have taken the driver for a medical test, to determine if the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was identified as 25 year old Harmit Singh Badhan, a resident of Malad. We learn that Badhan has played for the Indian under 19 cricket team, and has been part of the IPL team Rajasthan Royals as well.
This is not the first time that the railway station has seen such an unwelcome intrusion. A similar incident was reported from Andheri station in November 2016.
