CCTV challan works wonders
Mumbai - A whopping 14368 traffic offenders were booked within 15 days by the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) network. A total of 4717 CCTV cameras were installed throughout Mumbai to record traffic violations, and the initiative seems to be paying rich dividends. The CCTV Challan is a method for issuing challans to traffic violators without traffic police being present in person at the spot of offence. The scheme kicked off on 4 October.
