An elderly woman from Uttar Pradesh, who had come to Mumbai for eye treatment, died after being hit by an unknown vehicle in Chembur area. In this regard, Nehru Nagar police have registered a case against the unknown driver and started investigation.


The name of this old woman is Genabai Goud (60) and she is a native of Uttar Pradesh. A few days ago she had come to her son who lives in Chembur for eye treatment. Two days ago, her daughter-in-law took her for a walk in Annabhau Sathe Park here. After the walk, they left for home. While crossing the Eastern Expressway at Suman Nagar Junction, she was hit by a speeding vehicle. After this incident, the driver fled from the scene.

As soon as the vehicle hit, Genabai got seriously injured and collapsed on the road. Some citizens immediately admitted her to the local hospital. But she died before treatment. The Nehru Nagar police have registered a case against the unknown driver and started investigation.
