On Wednesday, a couple in their forties were found dead in the bathroom of their residence at Ghatkopar (East). Police found no external injury marks on the bodies. Bodies have been sent to Rajawadi Hospital for a post-mortem and the police are awaiting the results.

The deceased were identified as 44-year-old Deepak Shah and 39-year-old Tina Shah who were residents of Kukreja Palace in Ghatkopar’s Pant Nagar area. On Tuesday, the couple went home after celebrating Holi with their neighbours and family members, said a police officer.

On Wednesday around 1:30pm their family members tried contacting them but got no response. They reached their residence and entered with a spare key and found the couple lying in the bathroom. The family informed the Pant Nagar police. The couple were taken to Rajawadi Hospital but were declared dead. 

Senior police inspector Ravidatt Sawant told Hindustan Times that the couple lived alone and had no children. He added that there were no injury marks on the bodies and there is no clarity on how they died. They are awaiting the post-mortem report, he further added.
