Kamathipura- J J police have recovered one pistol, three cartridges, and one knife from Shadat Hussain Rehmat Hussain Sheikh (69) who is now behind bars.
The cartridges which were found, belong to a pistol and have been sent to the forensic sciences laboratory in Kalina for further investigation.
"The D company rules Kamathipura and so we are investigating if these cartridges have any connection with D company," said Pravin Fartare, police Inspector wiht the JJ police station.
The name of the D company, headed by notorious gangster Dawood Ibrahim, appears to have reared its head again in south Mumbai. The city, once terrorised by inter gang rivalry led by Dawood's henchmen, has seen a slump in terrorist activities in recent times. Is the recovery of the cartridges an indication that terrorism continues to simmer in its underbelly?
