Today at the legal proceedings prosecutor have stated the following points:

  • Mumbai Police has demanded 14 days custody to the suspect.
  • To investigate the characteristic background of the accused.
  • To check if the suspect is a repeat offender
  • To record his statement and verify his documents like name and address etc.
  • Custody needed as its likely that accused might threaten the victim and tamper the case.

Disputation filed by Defence lawyer HS Anand states:

  • This complaint is an afterthought with legal advice. As the Dangal star could have complained to Airport terminal itself. Her complaint was registered at the hotel next day.
  • With due respect to the Complaint, the defense lawyer said that this is an act to seek cheap publicity.
  • The actress has completed her 17th year of age in October so she is not a minor as she is almost 18.
  • Vikas was returning from the chautha of his maternal uncle from Delhi. He was in a sad state of mind.
  • POCSO section 8 doesn't imply in this case as there are certain parts of the body which are mentioned in the POCSO section 8 which should not be touched with an intention.
  • If the victim was being molested continuously in two hours flight why she did not a complaint at first or even later during the flight.
  • If the victim had a problem then why didn't she inform her mother?
  • There are a lot of discrepancies in her Instagram statement and police complaint, both the statements differ from each other.
  • Vikas did it unintentionally. Vikas does not have any criminal background and is happily married for 12 years and has a 9-year-old son.
