Delhi police arrested the most wanted terrorist Abdul Subhan Qureshi who is also known as ‘Indian Laden’. He was wanted in 2006 Mumbai blasts, Gujarat 2008 blasts, and Delhi 2010 blasts. He resided in Mumbai’s Paydhuni’s Patrawala building and he also owns a house in Mira Road’s Naya Nagar. National Investigation Agency (NAI) had announced a prize money of ₹4 lakh.


He was known by various names

He was one of the most wanted terrorists and was known as Abdul Subhan Qureshi aka Zakir Aka Kyun. After three bomb blasts, he was known as the ‘Indian Laden’.

This is how he hatched the Mumbai blast

Mumbai witnessed a series of blasts on July 11, 2006, where blasts took place in seven places in 11 minutes. This deadly blast claimed 181 lives and 824 were injured while many people were left crippled. 

In connection with this blast, Kamal Ansari, Naved Hussain Khan, Asif Khan, Tanvir Ansari, Mohammed Sajid Ansari, Sohail Sheikh, Aalam Sheikh, Muzammil Sheikh, Mohammed Shafi. The special MCOCA court announced 12 out of 13 accused as guilty of the same. While investigating, the police found out about SIMI terrorist’s mastermind Abdul Qureshi.

After Mumbai, he targeted Gujarat

After planning a blast in Mumbai, he carried out a series of blasts in Gujarat in 2008 in 70 minutes. In the blast, 76 people lost their lives while over 200 were injured. Later in 2010, Qureshi planned blasts with the help of sleeper cells which killed 24 people and injured more than 100.

Police declares high alert

Post these blasts, police issued a lookout notice to nab Qureshi who was on the run who made it to the most wanted criminals list. Software engineer Qureshi was arrested on Monday by Delhi police. For safety reasons, police have announced a high alert as the arrest has been made prior to 26 January.
