In a special operation conducted by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) in Mumbai, drugs worth INR 2.5 crore have been seized so far and 21 people have been arrested in 14 cases. Apart from this, Mephedrone (MD) worth INR 25 lakh has been seized in three operations conducted by ANC. Apart from this, action has been taken against the godown of e-cigarettes and the stock of e-cigarettes has been seized.


There is an e-cigarette warehouse in the Trombay Cheticamp area where e-cigarettes are sold, e-cigarettes are refilled using liquid flavours. Also, the ANC's Azad Maidan cell had received information that their battery was being reassembled. The police raided the godown and detained one person.


301 e-cigarettes, 402 used e-cigarettes, 130 e-cigarette batteries and filters, 303 e-cigarette flavours bottles, 9 e-cigarette battery chargers have been seized from this warehouse. The total value of the confiscated goods is INR five lakh rupees. In this regard, a case has been registered under section 7 and 8 of Electronic Cigarette Prohibition Act 2019 at Trombay Police Station.

In another operation conducted in the Kandarpada area of Dahisar West, two were arrested. A 77 gram weight 'M'.D' (Mephedrone) has been seized from the accused and its value is INR 15.40 lakh. A case has been registered in Kandivali ward in this regard. In the third operation, Worli cell arrested a person from Mazgaon and 46 grams of MD was seized from him. Its price is INR 10 lakh.


In the last 15 days, the Anti-Narcotics Cell has successfully registered a total of 14 crimes during a special operation and a total of 21 accused have been arrested. 849 grams of MD, 1 kg 230 grams of hashish, 92.4 grams of heroin, 280 grams of hydroponic ganja worth more than INR two crore 60 lakh were seized.

17 accused were arrested along with narcotics in the operation carried out by the police stations of Mumbai and other places. Apart from this, 407 actions have been taken under COTPA Act in connection with illegal sale of tobacco products. Also, 66 unauthorised stalls have been evicted.
