In a tragic accident,a 3.5 year old girl lost her life after getting hit by a drunk driver who entered the wrong lane in Mumbai's Bandra-kurla Complex (BKC) on Holi evening. An accused Vishwas Attavar, works as a president (chairman's office) at a leading corporate group, allegedly crashed into another car in his European-style hatchback that instantly killed the child and injured two others.
On Tuesday evening, when the accident occured the girl was with her uncle in the car. While the girl died on the spot, others sustained injuries. Attavar was booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and other sections of the IPC and Motor Vehicles Act. The next day (Wednesday) the accused was produced before Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate Court and was released on a bail surety of Rs 50,000.

The deceased has been identified as Swati Choudhary. In the accident, Swati's uncle Om Choudhary (25) sustained serious neck injuries while the driver, Vinod Yadav (46), suffered a hairline fracture in his ribcage. The uncle is now in the ICU at Guru Nanak Hospital.
