Aarey Colony - I’ve never seen anyone drink themselves smart, successful or happy. Most end up broke, bitter and alone. A drunkard committed suicide jumping into the pond in Aarey Film City, Goregaon. Lakshman Pudia (34) was the resident of Morcha Pada which comes under Aarey police station’s unit number – 30. He leaves three children and wife after him. Deceased worked as housekeeper in Sanjay Maintenance Services. The man was an alcoholic, this was the reason he was terminated from the job. The man went missing from 19 January at 10 pm. Before leaving the house, he ended up fighting with his mother and wife asking them to give him money to drink. His wife and brother-in-law went to police station and filed a missing complaint. The man did commit suicide before this for alcohol and was admitted to Kasturba hospital for 9 months. Police recovered his dead body and once identified by his wife the body was sent for post-mortem. Aarey police have closed the case calling it accidental death.
