Goregaon- 33 years old 'Paru' elephant died during a shoot at Goregaon’s Film city. It is been said that she was not well for the past 3 years. Animal activists also alleged that owner of Paru did not take her proper care despite her illness. The owner Saba Shankar Pandey stays at Dahisar who owns two elephants, Laxmi (28) and Paru (33).
In the year 2013, PAWS NGO had filed a complaint against the owner for no taking care of both the elephants. Chief Forest Officer N. Vasudevan has said that they will take necessary action in the whole matter.
