Filmmaker Avinash Das, in a recent tweet said, shared an image of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah with IAS officer Puja Singhal, and this post has landed him in trouble. As per reports, the Ahmedabad crime branch of the Gujarat Police has detained him with regards to the same.

It is being said that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested Puja Singhal in one of the money laundering cases and the photo which was recently shared by filmmaker Das has created a stir amongst the party members. Leading to this, Das was apprehended by the crime branch at Madh Jetty, when he got out of the house, in the afternoon at 1pm. His car was stopped post which he was detained and was then taken to Ahmedabad where the FIR was registered. The police have booked them under Sec 649 of the IPC.

Officials claim that by sharing the picture, he has insulted the insulted the minister and posted against the National Honour Act and the Information Technology Act whereby he shared the posts on Instagram and Facebook. Moreover, another FIR was filed against him in the past. 

Reports mentioned that Das has applied for an anticipatory bill at the Bombay High Court. However, after noticing that the court was not inclined to offer him relief, he has now withdrawn his plea. 

On the other hand, the ED arrested Pooja Singhal in May 2022 with regards to the money laundering case associated with the MGNREGA funds related to the Khunti district of Maharashtra. Officials are also informed that the IAS officer was also arrested for several other charges where the raids were conducted by the officials and INR 17.49 cross were recovered from CA Suman Kumar's house. The amount was apparently related to Singhal and her husband.

Meanwhile, as mentioned earlier, filmmaker Das earlier arrested in 2017 for sharing posts on the social media, showing a woman wearing national flag. Despite apologising for the same, the court back then did not reply him of any charges.
