An FIR has been registered against a builder for a fraud against the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) at Khar Police station.

In order to get additional FSI on a plot in the year 2011, the builder had agreed to build 116 houses by signing a contract with SRA. However, not a single construction was completed and a complaint was filed.

Who is the builder?

A case has been registered at Khar police station against Vikas Kumar Moradani, Kanhaiyialal Moradani, Mahesh Jagwasi, Amit Jagwasi, Sunil Daulatani and Pushkar Sutar for scam of INR 7.93 Crores.

Application for increase in FSI

There was a private plot on the 16th road in Bandra. The builder dreamt of constructing a high-rise building on this plot. However, there was a need for more FSI for this. The builders then applied for SRA's Rule 33 (14) (D).

The builder received an increase of 2.5 in FSI

After receiving an increased FSI, 2.75 FSI was approved. According to the rules, the builder was allowed to use 1.75 FSI out of 2.75 for his own building, while using the remaining 0.75 FSI for permanent transit camps was mandatory for the builder.

Under this agreement, the builder would have to construct 116 houses on 225 square feet in Jogeshwari.

Permanent transit camps were not built

However, for many years after the contract was signed in 2011, the builder did not make any move to build a Permanent Transit Camp. On the contrary, however, when the SRA realised that the builder has started taking bookings for the private plot, they filed a complaint against the builder and his five partners for a fraud of INR 7.93 Crores.
