In a shocking incident, a five-year-old girl was abducted by an unidentified person and was later found dead in Mahim on Thursday. However, upon post-mortem, it was found out that the minor was sexually abused before her death. The police found the victim's dead body near Mahim's new Rajendra Apartment.
Now the officials will be conducting further investigation in order to nab the culprit.
The victim had slept with her family at Mahim's LJ Road footpath on Wednesday and was abducted by the man around midnight. Upon realising that her daughter was not there, the father woke up the entire family who then began searching the area.
Eventually, the family members filed a complaint with Mahim Police who upon investigation found the victim dead in a half-naked state at a deserted place in Mahim. The police found that she was strangled to death as they discovered marks on her neck.
Now the police are looking at the CCTV footage to identify the culprit. They have filed a case of rape and murder against the accused.
