Four men trace a 22-year-old man on Instagram, befriend and rape him

Mumbai Police have arrested four men - Mehul Parmar (21), Asif Ali Ansari (23), Piyush Chauhan (22) and a minor - who allegedly raped a 22-year-old man, for three hours in a car, and dumped him on a road in Kurla.

After a number of brutal rape cases against women were reported from different parts of the country, another shocking case of rape, which was reported today, is making the buzz in the media. As per reports, a 22-year-old man from Mumbai was allegedly raped by four people, who used the social media app 'Instagram' to trace the vicitim's location and later abducted him.

The criminal case was filed at the VB Nagar police station and officials have registered an FIR under Sec 377 of the IPC. The Mumbai Police have arrested all the four suspects - Mehul Parmar (21), Asif Ali Ansari (23), Piyush Chauhan (22) and a minor, owing to which, he has been sent to a child remand home.

The 22-year-old man from Kurla had posted a selfie outside a restaurant in the city, on Sunday, and the arrested suspects followed him through the tagged location. Two of them then approached him claiming to be 'huge' fans of him, spent time chatting and asked him to accompany for a bike ride, which the victim agreed to. After a 20-minute ride, they people reached a hotel near the Mumbai airport, and the suspects then forced the man into a car.

Reports state that the victim was raped for three hours in a moving car and was then dumped. 

The men then dumped the 22-year-old victim at around 1.30 am on a road in Kurla. The victim and his parents soon approached the police and registered a complaint, who then nab all the four suspects on the same day.

Addressing the issue, Senior police officer Madhuri Pokle, VB Nagar police station, told India Today, "All the accused are remanded to police custody... We are taking down further statements in the case and investigating the sequence. We are awaiting reports from hospital as well."
