In recent developments, it has been reported that lakhs of rupees have been embezzled from the devotees of Lord Ram under the guise of donations for the Ram Mandir.

The scammers created a fake website through which they asked for donations from the devotees. This illegal website was created under the name Ram Janmabhoomi Trust Ayodhya. Meanwhile, in view of the situation, the Uttar Pradesh police have arrested five people in connection with the scam.

Moreover, the arrested have been identified as Ashish Gupta (21), Naveen Kumar Singh (26), Sumit Kumar (22), Amit Jha (24) and Suraj Gupta (22). According to sources, three of the five are residents of the Amethi district. Both are from Sitamarhi in Bihar. All five were currently living in the New Ashok Nagar area of East Delhi, adjacent to Noida. Police seized five mobile phones from the accused after the operation. Also, a laptop and 50 copies of the Aadhar card along with other materials were seized.

On the other hand, in the past, the Shiv Sena MP and chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut lashed out at the BJP over the fund collection drive for the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The party had earlier alleged that the mass contact initiative to collect funds from the public for the Ram temple construction in Ayodhya is akin to canvassing for the 2024 general elections in the name of Lord Ram.

This comes after Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust’s general secretary Champat Rai earlier said the trust is going to start a mass contact and contribution campaign across the country for the construction of the temple.
