Mumbai - Customs department at Mumbai airport has Seized 7.378 Kg of gold in the form of gold bars having foreign markings, cut pieces/ solid pieces of crude gold, gold coins and assorted gold jewelry valued at Rs.1,99,99,692 and Indian Rs. 7,50,000 in currency notes. This was seized from an unclaimed trolley bag left behind by one suspected passenger sensing the presence of AIU staff outside, in Jet Airways flight no. 9W 378 dated 25.11.2016 which had arrived from Raipur. When the passenger who had left behind the trolley bag approached the Jet Airways staff for taking delivery of the trolley bag, he was handed over to AIU. The passenger, Navratan Golechha of Raipur was arrested. On Saturday he was produced before the competent Court who remanded him to judicial custody up to 9 December. Further investigation is undergoing.
