Infamous for its hooliganism, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is once again viral on social media for thrashing and harassing an individual in Ghatkopar. MNS alleged that the man, Vijay Vare, had posted objectionable remarks online against the party’s chief Raj Thackeray.

Earlier on April 6, the MNS workers forced themselves in Vijay Vare’s residence at Ghatkopar East. The man had allegedly made an abusive comment on a Facebook post regarding Raj Thackeray’s Gudi Padwa speech. The MNS workers slapped and made him do sit-ups asking him to apologise for his remarks.

In the video, it can be seen that the individual tried to reason with the agitated MNS workers while his family pleads. However, the MNS workers physically assaulted him anyway. Later, Vijay Vare was taken to Pantnagar Police station.

According to a report published in Mumbai Mirror, a non-cognizable offence was registered against the individual under section 500 (defamation) of Indian Penal Code (IPC). However, the police failed to take action against MNS workers who bullied the individual.
