Jaipur-based choreographer arrested for making a hoax call to IndiGo

The IndiGo call centre received a bomb threat for its Jaipur-Mumbai flight at around 5:30 AM on Tuesday by a Jaipur resident, later identified as Mohit Kumar Tank who was detained by the police and is being interrogated.

Tank mentioned a bomb threat to 6E 218 operating a Jaipur-Mumbai flight. The airlines immediately reported the matter to the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) and followed all laid down security protocols. The concerned authorities declared it as a bomb threat after carrying out the investigation.

A choreographer on a reality show, Tank confessed to the CISF that he had made the call fearing that he won’t be able to reach the airport on time to catch the flight. An official observed that the airlines called up a particular passenger who had just missed the flight to assure him that he would have a ticket for the next flight.Tank  was handed over to the Sanganer police for further interrogation.
