Mumbai - The Juvenile court has permitted the Khar police to try a 17-year-old boy accused of fatally assaulting traffic policeman Vilas Shinde, as an adult in the sessions court. The minor and his 20-year-old brother are accused of attacking traffic police head constable Vilas Shinde on August 23, resulting in the death of the traffic cop. According to the new Juvenile Justice Act 2015, a 16- or 17-year-old can be tried as an adult if he/she is accused of an offence that carries a jail term of seven years or more.
