A security scare occurred at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay campus in Mumbai after several live cartridges were discovered in a hostel room. The incident raised concerns about security on the institute’s premises.
According to reports, the cartridges were found in a bag inside a room in one of the campus hostels. The discovery came to light after a dispute between students, which prompted security personnel to inspect the room. During the search, officials found five live cartridges, leading to immediate action by the authorities.
Following the discovery, the police registered a case and arrested a 23-year-old man connected to the incident. Investigations revealed that the cartridges were allegedly brought from Bihar by a friend who was visiting a student staying in the hostel.
Police officials have begun a detailed investigation to determine how the ammunition entered the campus and whether anyone else was involved. The cartridges have been sent for forensic examination to gather further evidence.
The incident has sparked concerns about campus security, and authorities are reviewing the matter to prevent similar situations in the future.
