In an effort to curb the rising number of coronavirus cases, Mumbai Police has now started cracking down on people flouting the rules. It has been observed that during the curfew, many people were travelling in Mumbai without any specific reason. As a result, the police have started cracking down on such unruly citizens. Mumbai Police are therefore seizing blocked vehicles within 2 km of the house. On Sunday, police seized 7,075 vehicles during the day.
Over 7000 citizens violated the rules of phase-wise unlocking by taking their vehicles out for non-official/non-medical/non-emergency reasons on 28 June.

As the lockdown restrictions were relaxed, several citizens in the city began to crowd the streets with large numbers of vehicles. Meanwhile, the police have started cracking down on such irresponsible citizens. The state government had earlier given many necessary permissions to the citizens for essential things. Also, several rules have been laid down pertaining to it. However, citizens need to abide by these rules.
With the rising number of coronavirus cases in the city, people are still required to observe social distancing, keep oneself clean and sanitized and to preferably not step out of the house. It is also mandatory to wear a mask while walking outside the house. Even though markets, shops, parlours have resumed operations, Mumbai Police has clarified that the place should be reached within two km.
Down below are the areas where the vehicles were confiscated.
