A shameful incident occurred in Jaideep chawl in Virar, wherein a minor girl was manhandled by a group of people as the girl was a mobile thief. People instead of handing over the girl to police they themselves took law in their hands and punished and interrogated the minor girl.
The girl was tied by a rope and was thrashed and interrogated by the people for stealing mobile. When police reached the spot in spite of taking the girl in their custody, police was quietly standing as spectator. Even after the girl confessed that she had stolen mobiles before also, she was not released and handed over to police. Finally, the minor girl was handed over to the police, but only after a good thrashing.
