A 24-year-old man has been arrested for sexually assaulting a nine-year-old boy in a public toilet in suburban Mumbai. Also, his 15-year-old companion has been detained in this case. According to the information of the police, this incident took place on May 1 around 7:30 in the evening.
A nine-year-old boy was playing with friends at his home. Then the 24-year-old accused approached him. He was called on the pretext of some work. He then took him to a public toilet. Police officials have informed that he sexually assaulted a minor boy there. According to Indian Express, both the accused absconded from the spot when the victim started screaming.
After the incident, the minor victim went home and hid. He told his mother that he would never go out to play again. After confiding, he told the incident to his mother. After that, the victim's mother directly reached the police station.
A complaint was lodged with the police on May 2. A case of unnatural offence, assault, criminal intimidation and sexual assault was registered on May 2 under the Indian Penal Code and Child Protection Act.
The accused was identified after examining the CCTV footage from the spot. Police informed that he was arrested on May 5 by sending a team. The police have also arrested his accomplice in this case. The police are investigating whether the accused have done something like this before.
