An elderly couple, residents of Khar’s Ekta Delight building, were found dead on Thursday morning at their apartment. The police reached the location after their dead bodies were discovered. As of now, they are investigating the demise of Nanak Makhija (85) and Daya Makhija (81).
The Ekta Delight building is near Khar Police station and Mr and Mrs Makhija had been living at the apartment on the first floor. The couple had two children who live outside the country. The initial investigation stated that a thief broke into the house and strangled the aged couple to death.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent for a postmortem. Police suspect that the murderer might have known the couple. However, the police are still investigating the case and will also check the CCTV footage for further leads.
