An incident in the Deonar area where a father brutally killed his daughter and son-in-law out of anger that the girl had a love marriage. The Govandi police have arrested the girl's father along with her brother and two others while investigating the matter.
On October 14, some children of the area went to swim in a well located in the Telecom Factory area of Deonar village. They saw the dead body of a young man floating and immediately informed the police. According to the police, the victim was stabbed several times. The police then registered a case of murder and started an investigation. On investigation, the police found the name of the dead youth to be Karan Chandra (age 22). Police also got information that he was from Uttar Pradesh. A year ago, Karan married Gulnaz Khan (age 20) which was not accepted by Gulnaz's family. As soon as the police came to know about this matter, they detained the girl's father Raisuddin Khan (age 50) from Dharavi area. During the investigation, he confessed to the crime and admitted to killing the girl in a similar manner with the help of his son Salman Khan and his two accomplices.
The Khan family did not accept this marriage as the girl had a love marriage. So they planned to kill both of them. According to this, a few days ago the father of the girl invited his son-in-law and the daughter to their house in Dharavi after approving the marriage of the two. After that, he first brought his son-in-law to the Deonar area on the pretext of shopping. After stabbing him here, his body was thrown into the well here. After that, the girl was taken to a secluded place in the Kalamboli area and attacked with a knife. Her father disfigured her face by crushing her with a stone so that she would not be recognised. The police have recovered the girl's body and arrested all the four accused.
