The anti-narcotics cell (ANC) of the Mumbai police seized drugs worth INR 42 lakh in three operations conducted in 12 hours. Five persons, including a foreign national, were arrested in operations conducted in Dahisar East, Goregaon West and Bandra West. 312 grams of drugs like mephedrone, hydroponic weed (marijuana) were seized from them.


In the last 12 hours, raids were conducted at various places in Dahisar, Goregaon, Bandra area of Mumbai city. A 33-year-old man of African origin was arrested in Dahisar East by the ANC's Kandivali cell. He was found with 60 grams of Mephedrone (MD) worth INR 12 lakhs. In this case, a case was registered under the Narcotics Prevention Act and the accused was arrested.

Another action was taken by the Bandra cell at Goregaon West. In this operation, two persons were arrested and 52 grams of narcotics were found in their possession. Police said that the accused have been arrested on Wednesday and a case has been registered against them under the Narcotics Control Act.


In another operation conducted in Bandra West, 200 grams of hydroponic ganja was seized. In this case, two accused aged 35 and 25 were arrested on Wednesday. Police informed that the value of seized ganja is INR 20 lakh.


127 people arrested with drugs worth INR 27 crore in six months

The Narcotics Control Unit has arrested 127 people under the Narcotics Control Act at various places in Mumbai in the last six months. It includes 12 citizens of African origin. In this case, 66 cases have been registered and in this entire operation, a total of 778 kg of narcotics has been seized. Their price is around INR 27.33 crore
