According to the latest reports, on Wednesday, May 25, the Mumbai Police, nabbed a man, Vikas Khairnar (21) who allegedly killed a woman, Sarika Chalke (30) and stuffed her body in a sack. He reportedly first carried it in an autorickshaw followed by a local train after which he threw it on the railway track.

Based on accounts, the deceased was a resident of Goregaon east and worked as domestic help, whereas the accused worked there as a housekeeper. The police claim that the duo were acquainted for three years. 

It has been reported that on Tuesday, May 24, the government railway police (GRP) found the woman's body stuffed in a sack on tracks between Mahim and Matunga stations. Narratives suggest that with a knife her throat was slit and four stab wounds were seen on her stomach in addition to more on her hand. 

A police official was quoted in reports elaborating on how a special team of Mumbai Central railway police and railway police crime branch commenced searching for missing complaints and found a match with one at Dindoshi police station. The official added that following this they contacted the woman's husband who apprised them that on May 23 at nearly 8 am she left home for work but did not return home. 

Later the team checked the CCTV footage and found that the victim had gone to her workplace. Further, the investigation brought to light that the accused had lent her INR 3,000 and was asking that she return it. On this issue, the accused allegedly killed her on the third floor of the residential building's toilet on May 23 at nearly 3 pm, police mentioned in accounts.

Moreover, narratives cite that the police believe that the suspect that the accused had a one-sided love for her. A police officer uttered that he stuffed the body in a sack and covered it with two others. He managed to take it out of the tower by telling people he was throwing away trash, reports remark. 

The police elucidated that the accused took the sack to Goregaon railway station in a rickshaw where he took it into a slow local to Churchgate in the luggage compartment. He fled from the spot after throwing the sack between Mahim and Matunga. Apart from her husband, she is survived by two children, the police added in accounts.
