A 27-year-old police constable committed suicide on Sunday night in Worli Police Colony. Before committing suicide, he shared a picture of himself hanging himself to one of his female friend. It is believed that he committed suicide after a fight with his girlfriend. Worli police have registered a case of accidental death in this case.


The dead police constable has been identified as Indrajit Salunkhe (27). He was working in Bhoiwada in the local armed police force. According to the information given by the sources, he committed suicide by hanging himself with the help of a rope from the window of the student's house near the police swimming pool in Worli. The incident took place around 10:30 pm.

According to preliminary investigation, the dead policeman was having an affair with a 23-year-old girl. On Sunday, when he met his girlfriend at Worli Sea Face, they got into an argument. Salunkhe then dropped his girlfriend at Dadar railway station. When he checked her mobile, his girlfriend had blocked his mobile number. He also sent a message that he was committing suicide. Worli police have recorded the statement of the family members of the deceased policeman and they have said that they have no suspicion or complaint against anyone.
