Mumbai police constable Dies After Being Hit by Car on Eastern Freeway

A freeway rider attached to the Mumbai Police died after being hit by a speeding car on the Eastern Freeway (North Bound), Reay Road ramp, while on duty.

The incident occurred at around 7.40 pm on January 28, 2026. The deceased has been identified as Police Constable Sushant Mohan More (PC No. 08/1691). While he was performing duty near the Reay Road ramp chowky, a WagonR car (registration number MH03 EF 7336) hit him at high speed, causing serious injuries to his face.

Constable More was immediately admitted to Sion Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment in the ICU. However, he succumbed to his injuries at around 3.00 am on February 2, 2026, during treatment.

Following his death, an Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been registered at Sewri Police Station, and further investigation is underway.

Family members of the deceased are present at Sion Hospital. The last rites will be performed at Naigaon.
