After Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport received a threat call, Mumbai Police and other security agencies are on alert, sources said. The caller  identified himself as one Irfan and claimed that he was allegedly associated with a terror organisation, according to the sources.

On Monday night around 10:00 pm, the threat call was made at the airport, sources added. The security was beefed up at the airport and nearby surroundings, following the call, sources added.

"Mumbai Police and other agencies at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport were put on alert after receiving a threat call on Monday. Caller introduced himself as Irfan Ahmed Sheikh and as a member of terror outfit Indian Mujahideen. Case was filed and probe is on,” said Mumbai Police, as per ANI. 

Acting on the information, all the agencies of the airport were alerted and Mumbai's Sahar Police started an investigation in the matter. The police has registered a case against an unknown suspect under section 505 (1) of the Indian Penal Code, an official said.
