Mumbai police arrested two individuals for online harassment of a 25-year-old YouTuber. Youtuber reported that her images had been copied from social media sites and altered into nudes.

The suspects were identified as Nandlal Badela, 20 from Vasai and Ankur Deb, 19 from Assam.

On October 18, 2022, the 25-year-old YouTuber reported to the police that she had been harassed since September 9. The culprits posted the images on an American social news website.

They also offered to sell them. Additionally, a phoney Instagram account was made in the victim's name. Her altered images were posted on that account.

The police acted on the victim's complaint. They initiated an investigation that involved tracking the financial transactions on the social news platform. A police team led by Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Kane detained Nandlal Badela in Vasai. Sub-Inspector Rahul Kokate's team was sent to Assam to detain Ankur Deb.

Both accused were arrested under sections 354D, 509, 67, and 67A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Section 354D deals with stalking, while section 509 deals with acts intended to insult a woman's modesty. Sections 67 and 67A deal with publishing or transmitting obscene and sexually explicit material in electronic form.
