A police officer from the Vikhroli traffic division committed suicide by hanging himself in his residence. The incident took place on Saturday morning. The name of the deceased police officer is Shankar Kolse. The police have initially speculated that he committed suicide due to leg pain.

Shankar Kolse (56) lives with his wife in Varsha Nagar, Vikhroli Parksite. He was working in the Vikhroli Traffic Department. On Saturday night, he went upstairs to sleep as usual. When his wife went upstairs to wake him up around 8:30 in the morning, she found him hanging from the iron staircase of the house with the help of a saree.

He was admitted to Rajawadi Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead. His wife Ranjana Kolse woke up at 2 am and found Shankar Kolse sleeping. Police said he committed suicide after 2 am.

He had not written any kind of note before committing suicide. He had met with an accident a year and a half ago. At that time, he had undergone a foot surgery. He was suffering from that pain. Senior Police Inspector Santosh Ghatekar of Parksite Police Station said that he may have committed suicide due to his illness. A case of unnatural death has been registered in this case.
