A special court in Mumbai issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Ami Modi, the wife of fugitive businessman Nirav Modi. Diamond trader Nirav Modi is one of the main accused in PNB scam worth ₹13,000.

Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had mentioned Ami Modi for the first time in the chargesheet related to Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam. Judge MS Azmi issued summons and NBW against Ami under Special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The special court issued this order taking cognizance of the supplementary chargesheet filed by Enforcement Directorate (ED) against Nirav Modi (48) and other accused. ED alleged that Ami Modi used an international bank account to transfer $30 million.

ED raised doubts about the money transfer and informed that this amount was used to purchase property in New York’s Central Park. In the chargesheet, the ED has provided additional evidence and attachment information.
